About Bhandirvan
Bhandirvan, one of Vrindavan's 12 forests, is the sacred site where Radharani and Shri Krishna were married beneath two massive banyan trees in the Lagna Mandap, with Lord Brahma officiating the ceremony.
The locals say that only 10 million confidential associates of Divine Couple (that included sakhis, peacocks, parrots, cows and monkeys) participated in this marriage. Also, it is only those 10 million who had the mercy (kripa) to attend that marriage can enter Bhandirvan in present times.
Annually, this divine wedding is celebrated on the occasion of Phulera Dooj which usually falls in the month of February - March.
Inside the premises of Bhandirvan, there is Radha Bhandir Bihari temple where Krishna is seen putting the sindoor on Radha's head. A Temple of Lord Balram and a sacred well which was believed to be created by Krishna himself with his flute.
There is a small temple that has a marriage crown of Shri Krishna, constructed by Great-grandson of Shri Krishna, Maharaj Vajranabh in his memory.
